Welcome Back To School

I hope everyone had an enjoyable and restful summer. I am excited for the new school year. We have  many fun things planned to help everyone get acquainted and comfortable with their new friends and new routines. There may be a few tears at drop off but don't be discouraged, sometimes it takes a little while for everyone to become comfortable with a new place, new people, a or new routine. We are here to help ease the transition from home to school. Together we will ensure your child's first school experience is a happy one.

These first few weeks we will introduce our prayers, songs and routines. We will have plenty of play time to get to know our teachers and new friends. We will paint everyday!! We will play outside. We will learn how to sit on the reading rug and how to sit in "big kid" chairs during snack and lunch. We will learn our new friends and teachers names. We will learn how to line up on the wall and put our toes on the black line. We will learn how to wash our hands and how to get a drink out the drinking fountain. We will learn how to walk up and down the changing table stairs and how to use the toddler potties. We will learn how to wash our hands and how to take turns. These are just a few of the things we will learn at school.  Will we learn them all the first week or so, no. But we will learn something everyday. The most important thing I want the children to learn this year is how much Jesus loves them, and so do I.

Here are a few things that we will explore this week:
*Looking for blue items in the room
*Painting with blue paint
*Showing the number 1
*Match 1 to1 using colored blocks
*Painting a craft stick square
*Taking our pictures
*Scooping in the rice table
*Playing with blue playdoh
*Exploring our children's Bibles
*Learning to sing Jesus Loves Me with hand motions

Enjoy our day in pictures:

Playing with new friends and toys and taking turns painting with blue paint

Singing "Sticky, sticky, sticky bubble gum"
Stuck to our hair

"Unstick"

Reading books together

Out door fun

We had a great first day of school.  A few tears and lots of smiles. A little wind, and little rain, then the return of the sun shine!!
