August 29th

Happy Friday

We are still working on introducing all of our routines and songs as well as getting to know our teachers and friends. It is amazing how quickly these wonderful little people get into the grove of new things.

Our plans for this week include:
*Taking individual pictures
*Painting a blue picture frame
*Free choice painting
*Cutting and gluing to make a bumble bee for our class board
*Jumping ON and OFF blue "puddles"
*Stamping #1's and squares
*Finding blue items in the room
*Walking into the new building to play in the commons
*Playing musical instruments

Enjoy our day in pictures:

We went outside early this morning to play in the water table and get some exercise before coming in for morning meeting.

This morning we were able to choose a picture to paint blue. Choices included, Cookie Monster, a blue jay or a race car

Some friends worked on tearing and gluing
the strips on the bumble bee

Snack time

Singing "5 little monkeys
jumping on the bed"

Ring around the Rosie
with Mrs. Schenck

We love to run and play in the commons with balls and hoops
We even play our dancing music
and boogy with the mood strikes

The tunnel can be scary at first
but we have learned how fun it
can be

Music time with instruments:
we are tired from playing in the commons and some of us are ready for lunch

This concludes our first full week of school!! The amount of tears has slowed down to a trickle and friendships are slowing developing.  We will continue our exploration of the number 1, the color blue and the square next week. Then we will begin the new color, number and shape the week after.
