September 9th

This week we are continuing our study of God's Creation, focusing on days 3 and 4. The following is an excerpt from our children's Bible.
Genesis 1:9-19
The Third Day
On the third day God was busy. He made puddles and oceans and lakes and waterfalls and rivers. He made the dry ground too. Next, He made plants. He made so many different kinds of trees, flowers, and bushes, that no one could count them all. God said His work was good.

The Fourth Day
On day four God put the sun in the sky to warm the earth. He saw that the night was very dark, so God put the moon and the stars in the sky. Then God Made spring, summer, fall and winter. All that He made was good.

This week's activities will include:
*Introducing our new color, number and shape
*Creating with new red play doh
*Painting red pictures
*Counting 2 octagons
Creation Days 3 and 4
*Using stampers to show God's creation
*Tearing and cutting red streamer
*Gluing streamers onto an apple for our class tree
*Learning the use a paint dauber on an octagon
*Gluing 2 octagons on the number 2

Practicing control using the paint dauber on the circles inside an octagon

Today was a great day in PDO.  We are learning to recognize our color of the month by finding red items in the room. Just saying the work octagon is difficult but we are a bright bunch and love counting two octagons and placing them on the BIG Velcro octagon.
